Self-Care is not Self-Indulgence

Much is said about self-care, but I still see so many people believing that self-care is getting a night mask and a fresh manicure. Although taking care of your physical appearance may be a form of self-care, it's not the only (nor the most important) one.

At its essence, self-care should help promote and maintain health in all aspects of one's life: not just physical, but also mental, spiritual, and emotional.

By practicing self-care, you can manage stressors in your life and take care of your own health and well-being, while preventing illness, stress, and anxiety.

So how do you do it?

✨ Make a list of the things that fill your cup. This will be different for each person. It could include a walk in the park, aromatherapy, practicing gratitude, journaling, running, reading, resting, contemplating nature, practicing breathwork, meditating, eating nurturing foods...

✨ Look at your calendar and see how you can implement these activities on a DAILY basis (not everything every day, but at least one form of self-care activity every day - yes).

✨ Now just put it into practice! I always find that adding slots in my calendar for these activities helps me to follow through, so go ahead and give that a try!

Now, some days you will need some more love than others. On days that you need more fuel, make sure you have a toolbox of the things you enjoy and take the time to rest and recharge.

Time for self-care is time for your health.

Remember: You are your business's most important asset! Take care of yourself first so you can be there not only for your business, but also for your family, your friends, and everything else that matters to you.

Let me know in the comments what are your favorite self-care activities!
